WHO

Entry to the BFDG will be limited to those members of the Film and Television Industry whose work directly involves them with the Art Department.

Or to those whose work, in the opinion of the Committee, is so closely aligned to the work of Art Department that they merit membership of the BFDG.

Applicants should have been working in the industry within the last 12 months*.

*Exceptions apply for Affiliate applicants.

OVERSEAS APPLICANTS

We accept overseas applicants who work with UK based productions and already have access to suitable visas.

FIVE CREDITS

Normally applicants will apply at their current working credited title and will have already gained at least five credits in the grade they are applying for, working on significant programming.

Proof of continued work over three years in the chosen grade may be asked for.

THREE CREDITS

Three credits are applicable at the following grades only:

  • Art Department Runner/Assistant
  • Junior Draughtsperson
  • Assistant Art Director

AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP

Offered to newcomers to the industry, an Affiliate membership should be sponsored by either an existing BFDG member or tutor that is known by professional contact with the BFDG or a member.

UPGRADING YOUR MEMBERSHIP

If you wish to upgrade your membership to the next level in the future then the same criteria applies. You will need to have gained at least five credits in the position you are requesting to upgrade to in significant programming.
