Melissa Davis

Role
Art Deptartment Assistant

Melissa is highly organised, talented and of the sunniest disposition.
Having her in my art department is a delight.
Her attention and care towards absolutely everyone around her is very special
Everything she was asked to do she fulfilled to the utmost with the least outward fuss. Her technical grasp is also of the highest caliber and she should move up through the Art Department swiftly.
I will watch her trajectory with interest and great affection.

I would like to nominate Melissa Davis who was the Art Department Assistant on The Bitter End, a film I worked on earlier this year.

Melissa was incredibly dedicated handling research, mood boards, location surveys (which were accurate) alongside technical drawings and model making. With such a small department her ability to multi task really maximised what we could achieve on the film. She coordinated tasks such as the time sheets, office supplies and snacks for the set dec, art and graphics departments.

Aside from our office interactions, Melissa came out to a few locations. We were working in a large stately home and needed to create tonnes of box covers for sockets and switches. She diligently measured, manufactured these and thoroughly respected the process of working in a listed building.

Melissa is organised, resourceful, collaborative, and highly competent. An empathetic team player who anticipated the needs of those around her and communicated with clarity and professionalism. Her positive attitude was invaluable to the Team and that spread to the other departments around her building to a wonderful relationship with production.

I fully endorse her for this award, and absolutely believe she will have a successful career in Art Department and I sincerely hope I get to watch her do so. Thank you for your consideration.

Melissa Davies was our Art Department Assistant on the ‘Bitter End’ – she was an absolute star in the art department, full of initiative, creativity, and good energy. She jumped in wherever needed, from making beautifully detailed white card models to doing solid research and keeping communication flowing smoothly between departments. Always helpful and upbeat, she was a great support to the designer and a real team player. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and she brought a lovely, positive atmosphere on a short, intense job. A capable, diligent, and genuinely great person to have around — definitely one to watch and a real asset to any team.
