Finalist

Charlie McDonnell

Role
Junior Draughtsperson

We think Charlie should be considered for this award because of her incredible adaptability and unwavering positivity. Charlie first joined us as Art Department Assistant on Rings of Power season 2, we were spread between Bray and Bovingdon Studios and Charlie took on setting up and running our Bovingdon Art Dept outpost. Through “Ice Station Zebra” conditions Charlie kept our team supported and smiling! As Junior Draughtsperson on Ahsoka Season 2 Charlie really developed her Rhino 3D modelling and Vectorworks drawing. She has managed all the stage plans and countless updates across the eight episodes and two studios. Again, helping run the satellite Art Dept, at Longcross this time and even managing to gain some valuable stand by experience on a new tricky Star Wars environment. Charlie is always diligent, loyal, conscientious and kind. She embraces any challenge you ask of her and she is proactive, seeking out opportunities to help. She is the first person you want to call when you start a job, and the last person you want to let go. I am sure these things can be said about lots of members of the Art Dept, but it’s unusual to be able to say all of them about just one person so early in their career. Charlie expresses her determination, commitment and passion through her work, all the while smiling and helping others. Such a positive contribution to any Art Department should, like Charlie should be celebrated.
