The 12th BFDG Production Design Awards Supported By BEN

All of the productions were released in the UK (from 1st January 2022 to midnight on 31st December 2022 based on data from IMDB and UK general release dates (release can mean theatrical or streamed / on-demand broadcast including festival screenings.)
Each finalist is accompanied by the following supporting assets: a still image that best represents the work on the production; a piece of artwork from the production, this can be either be a set drawing, concept drawing or graphic; the trailer for the production and a supporting presentation.

The exceptions to this are for the following categories:

The Peter Lamont AwardSpotlighting New Talent (supported by Netflix) – for the first time this year entries are accompanied by a still image and a piece of artwork.

Short Film – Entries are accompanied by a still image, a piece of artwork and a trailer  for you to view only.
The first round of voting on this award will be carried out by a specialist committee of BFDG members. The membership will then be asked to vote on the final winner.

Outstanding Contribution to the Art Department (supported by Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden) – This category is voted on and agreed by the BFDG committee and a representative from Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.

Lifetime Achievement – This category is voted on and agreed by the BFDG committee.

 Planet Positive Award All entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel of sustainability professionals working in film, TV including representatives from Universal Pixels,  BEN, We Are Albert and sustainability agency Creative Zero as well as members of the BFDG core committee.

The winners from each category will be announced at our awards ceremony which takes place on Saturday 18 February 2023 at The Londoner Hotel, London WC1.

The Peter Lamont Award
Spotlighting New Talent Award

This award is supported by:

Named in honour of Production Designer and BFDG member Peter Lamont. Peter was always keen to help and support young talent in the Art Department and as this award’s intention is to highlight the future stars of the next generation of filmmakers the BFDG thought it would be a fitting tribute to dedicate this award to him. This year the award is supported by Netflix.

This category will be voted on by the BFDG committee only.
Certificates will also be given to all finalist nominees.

The Planet Positive Award

This award is supported by:

The new Planet Positive Award will go to either an Art Department or individual Art Department member who champions environmental sustainability in their work. This new award has been created in association with albert.

We are looking for a BFDG member and/or Art Department team that can demonstrate their best efforts to produce environmentally sensitive designs and construction methods, sustainably sourced materials, props and thoughtful end of life planning.

This award is for Art Department members who we would like to honour for their outstanding contribution to the art department.

Judging for this award, is made by the BFDG committee.
